What Science Says About Making a Good Impression

You can tell when you’ve established a good rapport or bond with someone by looking for certain nonverbal cues, according to a new analysis of more than 50 psychology papers.

In your next listing appointment or meeting with buyers, look for the following behaviors:

  1. Eye contact

  2. Smiling

  3. Initiating conversation

  4. Laughing

  5. Maintaining physical proximity. 

The study also showed that in Western cultures mimicking behaviors (i.e., mirroring the emotions of the other person) and head nodding were also signs that a someone likes you.
